Today I sat down and finished Ahref’s video course on Search Engine Optimization.
The video itself was only about 2 hours long, a fair chunk of which I had already gone through, but the content was so interesting and the course was so full of detail that I found almost everything in it important enough to write down, excitement hormones rushing through me with the thrill of learning something new. I kept admiring how interesting and well-explained it was, and it didn’t even feel like I was working. I was just having fun learning.
In this natural high, I also came up with more ideas for content I could create (I’ve been keeping a list of all the things I could write or talk about on my socials as part of my new personal brand), including (potentially, in the future) creating a course or masterclass aimed at people wanting to start affiliate marketing but not not comfortable on video or showing their face online — i.e. affiliate marketing for bloggers. I could share a lot of the SEO information I learned there, combined with the wisdom I get around affiliate marketing through the courses I’m taking right now.
Of course in order to have the authority to teach such a topic, I need to have experience in that particular domain myself. So, it also led to ideas around starting off with social media the way Jade & Kev are teaching me right now in the Freedom Affiliate Launch, and then once I get a hang of things and the business takes off, focusing more on the blogging side of things and hopefully finding success.
After studying the SEO course and understanding what an amazing free resource it was, I also came up with the idea to compile a list of free resources for people to start their affiliate marketing journey, because I didn’t know enough about the field to find many relevant ones at the start of my journey and most of the courses I found were paid.
I could create a list of the resources I have ended up using that were helpful to me, i.e. the ones I would recommend if I were to start again. While I’m still only at the start of my journey, I already have a few great recommendations and I’m sure the list is only going to grow going forward.
