Today I went through Module 2 of the Freedom Affiliate Launch - The Freedom Partner Program - which was about the affiliate program offered by the Freedom Formula team.
This module was about upgrades to the course, and although I wasn’t interested right away, I wanted to go through it for the sake of completeness and watched the videos sped up to 1.5x.
The benefits offered did seem lucrative, but the upgrades turned out more expensive than I expected and while I might not mind investing in them using the money I earn from the business itself, I didn’t want to go for them right away.
In any case, I’d like to finish the Freedom Affiliate Launch before even considering an upgrade. I feel like I’ll know enough by the end of Launch to be able to make my own way in the field without requiring an upgrade, but I’m keeping an open mind until I do finish.
I was initially interested in the partner program — the option of becoming an affiliate with Freedom Formula itself — since I’m only comfortable promoting products I’ve tried myself. I document my journey as an affiliate marketer on social media, then for now this is the only course in that category, and the Freedom Partner Program gives me the ability to make commissions on any sales made through my recommendations.
However, the monthly fee to be a partner was also on the higher end of my expectations, and while it would be manageable once I started making sales, it was not something I was convinced to buy immediately.
There was also a dilemma about the fact that if I began affiliate marketing by promoting an affiliate marketing course, I wouldn’t have a testimonial about the money-making potential that the course offers, since I wouldn’t have made any commissions myself before starting to market the course. The authenticity factor was non-negotiable, and I would have to find a way to promote the course without talking about results, which would be a lot more difficult.
Moreover, I learned that the commission tier available to those in the Launch program was a lot lower (low ticket commissions only) than the ones for the upgraded courses, Accelerate and Money Magnet (which were high to very high ticket). From my prior research, I’d learned that most of the earning potential lies in high-ticket affiliate marketing — another reason for me to give myself some time to think and research other programs before possibly investing in this one.
Thoughts around the topic of showing myself online were still going around in my head over the past couple of days, and now I've come to think of it as a form of growth, forcing me to step out of my comfort zone. It’s gone from being something that I wouldn’t mind doing, to something I now actually want to do.
I’m also starting to see marketing as not a bad thing or an easy way out of a 'proper' career, but a skill that I should be proud to have. It’s way too early to seriously decide if this is even going to be a change in career. But, I’m taking the course seriously so I do obviously consider the option.
The introductory stuff seems to be over, looking at the course contents. The next module is titled Your Customers & Personal Brand. Looks like the big kid stuff is starting tomorrow!
