Day 17: My First Reel

I spent the majority of my time catching up on writing pending daily progress updates today.

(Yes, I fell behind again 😔)

I then started writing some content for some upcoming blog posts.

One of them is a deeper dive into my WHY — I’m doing Affiliate Marketing for financial freedom, but in this piece I’m talking about why that freedom is important for me.

In the other article, I talk about my biggest mental block during my journey so far.

Both of these are still works in progress, but they should be up soon.

It was already pretty late (time is seriously flying, I feel like I don’t have enough hours in a day), but I drafted some content for Instagram because it was high high time.

I made and posted an introductory reel, talking about what I’m doing, and why, and a call to action to follow me for updates.

I also learned from the Freedom Affiliate Launch that hashtags are important, and how to search for the ones with the most potential. Jade says that you should use 30 hashtags (the maximum allowed limit) on each post for the best reach.

So, I spent a few minutes doing my research and finding hashtags that align with my brand and my post, and added them as a comment to my reel.

Lastly, I followed 5 of the affiliate marketing accounts that I’d been following on my personal Instagram account (the ones that inspired me to start!) in the hope that my reel would see some engagement.

I’m planning to use my nightly Instagram scroll time (which is unhealthy I know, I’ll stop, but until then I may as well use it productively) to engage with more related accounts, and also to find trending audios because it was a pain searching for a good fit for my first reel. Having a few audios ready in store will save so much time.

One last thing: I’ve decided to start keeping these daily update blogs short and sweet. Some of them already are, but sometimes when I get too deep explaining all my thoughts it takes up a lot of time, and I don’t think a lot of people read these blogs in depth. Instead, if I have new feelings to share, I’m going to just make a talk-to-the-camera reel about it and post it. It might be intimidating, but it’ll save a lot of time and I think it’ll be good for my Instagram growth too.

That’s all for today. As always, I have a ton of work for tomorrow. Mental health status is moderate to good.
